Topic 8 Morgan Freeman

Hi. Today I will introduce an actor who is one of the most famous actors in the world, Morgan Freeman. I first knew of him when I watched the movie that will be a good lesson of my life. The movie's title is "The Shawshank Redemption." I think you should watch this movie without knowing about the story.

Morgan Freeman was born in Memphis, Tennessee, U.S.A in 1937. He is 77 now. He is an actor, filmmaker and narrator. His face is remembered by many people from the movie "The Shawshank Redemption." I like some his movies, such as "Levity," "10 Items or Less," "The Bucket List," and of cource "The Shawshank Redemption." I think a lot of his movies are nice stories that move our hearts. That's why he is loved by people all over the world. And he hates discrimination against blacks. I think so too. One of my favorite movie is "The Bucket List." He co-starred with his son, Alfonso Freeman.

My favorite Morgan Freeman movie

Today, I recommend you to "The Shawashank Redemption." This movie was directed by Frank Darabont, and it's an amazing human drama story. It's baced on a Stephen King novel. Morgan Freeman acted the part of Red, and the film's narrator, and Tim Robbins had the role of Andy. They acted important roles in this story, and I think their great performances maximize the good story. Andy was put in prison by a false accusation, and the story progresses  in an American prison. Red and Andy met in prison and became good friends. I attached a link to this movie trailer from YouTube, and you should watch it. It's one of the movie you should watch absolutely, so I recommend it. I think you will like it.





Topic 7 Chloe Grace Moretz

Today I will introduce a very cute girl who appeared as a hit-girl in the action film "Kick-Ass." Her name is Chloe Grace Moretz. I like action action movies, I watched "Kick-Ass" recently and I thought this film has very cool fighting scenes, but it's also a very grotesque. So if you are under 15 years of age, you can't watch this film.

Chloe Grace Moretz was born in Atlanta, Geogia, U.S.A in 1997. She is 17 now. Her first movie was "Heart of the Beholder" and she acted as Molly, but she didn't became very famous in this movie. She is now recognized by many people as the hit-girl in "Kick-Ass." The charactor is a very strong hero, but her way of talking is bad, so many people do not think very well of her in the movie. In the past few years, she appeared in many movies and become a very famous teen age star. I really like many of her movies, "Hugo," "Dark Shadows," "Carrie" and of course "Kick-Ass." These are interesting movies.

My favorite Chloe Grace Moretz movie
Today, I recommend "Kick-Ass." It is a nice hero story, I think many people believe in the existence of Heroes, but actually there is no hero like Superman in the real world. The protagonist of this movie is a man who longed to be a strong hero, and Big Daddy and Hit Girl help him because he is weak. Gradually they become famous and they beat up the man who is the enemy of Big Daddy. Then his life becomes very nice because of their effects. I attached a link to this film trailar from YouTube, so if you watch the trailar you will like it. I think you should go to a rental shop and get this film.

My English teacher, Kevin, told me about an interesting website, MakeBeliefsComix. If we use the site, we can make a short comic for free, so I made a short comic related to a movie scene in the last class, so I would like to introduce it.

I watched "Black Swan" a few days ago, I thought I would like to recommend it. So today I'll introduce another famous actress in the world, Natalie Portman. I think most people know her because she acted the lead role in many movies and she has a lot of fans. I like her high quality performances.

Natalie Portman was born in Jerusalem, Israel in 1981. She is 33 now. When she was 13, she acted the part of Mathilda in "Leon: The Professional." Many people have seen her in this movie. In 1999, "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace" was released, and she acted the part of Padme Amidala, it was chance to become a truly popular actress in the world. Keira Knightley is very similar to Natalie Portman, so she appeared in "Star Wars" as a fake of Padme Amidala (Natalie Portman).

My favorite Natalie Portman movie

I like "No Strings Attached." So I want to introduce it someday. But this time, I will recommend "Black Swan." It is an American psychological horror film, and Natalie Portman received an Academy Award for Best Actress. She had the role of Nina who is a good ballerina, but she has a serious emotional problem that causes her to have bad imagination. Then, she kills a woman because of her bad imagination. The movie has some scary amd sexy scenes. Even if you don't like these scenes and you don't want to watch the movie, I think this film is worth seeing.
